Loftet on foot

Loftet is a mountain peak of 2170 meters that is great to ski in the springtime and on foot in summer.

From March to October, you can walk on foot. The tour takes approx. 5 hours and starts at Jotunheimen Fjellstue or by the parking lot at Øvre Halsatjønnen. Follow the ridge marked as "Langranden" on the map. There will be a clear path here. After about 300 meters of height, it flattens out slightly. Here you can stop and enjoy the view.

The hike continues inwards a flat section around 500 meters before reaching the steepest section of the hike. From here you follow the ridge upwards to the right, either over the rocks over the snow before reaching the top of the mountain. A large cairn meets you at the top of the 2170-m high mountain.
